on clothes and electronics the nearby center opened at 5:00 a.m. on friday morning. one shopper stated that she has been planning for this day and it was worthwhile. shopping was great and it has been terrific. i am staying at st. francis so i can shop all day long. everybody has been really great and friendly. we found everything that we needed. >> there were plenty of shopping bags to be seen in humans or less ninth families stocking up on close electronics in many cases at the deeply discounted prices. the nearby westfield center

business saturday. if consumers are encouraged to shop loco and help small businesses. this falls between black friday and cyber monday. many large retail stores see a lot of business and those with smaller businesses like this one encourages people to remember them as well. >> i think it is important for you to support your neighbor and basically these people that own these areas are our neighbors. we may not know the ceo of wal-mart or denny's and we may not know that they are our neighbors. >> small-business saturday takes place nationwide and this is across the bay area. if you do need an extra incentive to come out they are offering 3 m parking every day now until christmas weekend. >> there was one incident

during black friday at stone town galleria in san francisco. police say the thieves were doing their own shopping in the parking lot of them all. kron4 is a j.r. stone reports electronics are a favorite target. >> all of this was by the golden gate park. a busted windshield and a flat tire is all that is left after f the police track down this female suspect. >> they got one lady right here. >> that was one of the two suspects who were accused of breaking into a car at his gallery. they stole and ipad that was equal to what they gps. the victim was able to track down her ipad. this

pettiford was killed back on november 16th. police say he and an accomplice rob for businesses in east san jose and started a shoot out with the police that injured officer. a memorial service for him will be held at the darling fisher memorial chapel and campbell at 11:00 a.m.. please continue to search for the second suspect in this murder. >> coming up on kron 4 news weekend. utility officials and these big one and residents about a scam. will have the details coming up.

businesses in the area. alameda am invisible power says several companies have complained about a collar off, impersonating a utility representative and asking for immediate payment by credit card or wire transfer. it police are investigating. then buys business owners to ask anyone claiming to be a utility representative for an id badge and check if the person's vehicle for an official logo. >> san francisco public utilities commission is urging residents to recycle their used cooking oil this holiday season. this is all in an effort to turn coal into fuel for a city vehicles and keep fats and grease out of sorts. san francisco and treasure island residents can drop off use cooking all at nine sites that are open year round. >> for those seeking a festa

filtering in here at this coffee shop. this rested restaurant has been here for more than 50 years spirit is still owned by the same family. this is a day when consumers are encouraged to shop locally. it's purposely false between black friday and cyber monday. many large retail stores and outlets have seen a lot of business and when i spoke to one waitress here she stated that every dollar you spend as small business makes a big difference. >> since this is my end, it is very important. this is how i make a living. every day, a customer is a new day. if we treat everybody this way we give back.

>> a lot of these customers come back and they told me that they come here every saturday. small-business saturday does take place nationwide and across the bay area. if you do need an extra motivation to come out there is free meter parking in alameda every saturday through christmas weekend. >> as we were talking. one of the things that impressed me was the man that was waving. when you shop as small businesses you do get to know the person and it feels like you are dealing with family and make you feel good. >> a lot of the waitresses tell me that this is the same faces their wait and some of the customers tell me that this is one that banished the one big retail store cannot offer. it is a lot friendlier here than a bigger change. >> shoppers all over the bay

>> a man is recovering from minor injuries this morning after being rescued from a storm drain in pinole last night. authorities say they received reports are run 9:00 p.m. of a man wished inside a storm drain near a best buy store on fitzgerald the drive. the rescue units spent three hours trying to remove the 27 year-old man from the drain. if the man sustained minor shoulder abrasions from being waged in the drive for more than four hours. it is still
